In order to obtain sufficient volume in the bass, it is necessary to increase the reed amplitude. However, if the amplitude is large, the reeds will hit the cover, especially on drawing. Then, as a result of enlarging the cover according to the degree of the amplitude, it became this unique form.

The point where Suzuki was able to obtain a larger amplitude was the high degree of air tightness achieved by high-precision machining. The air tightness is high, so the breath blown into holes reach to the reeds directly and the reeds vibrate well. By inheriting the "sound" characteristic of "MANJI" for the Low keys, it has become possible to smoothly switch from existing keys.
